About this role: As the Manager, Retention Marketing at Sakara Life, you will play a pivotal role in shaping and executing retention marketing strategies that resonate with our audience. Your primary focus will be on knowing our customers in and out to drive increased satisfaction and engagement across retention marketing channels. 

You will dig into: What motivates our customers’ purchase? What are their purchasing patterns and what drives reorder? When are they most likely to churn? What are the key opportunities for improving their experience and driving loyalty? etc. You’ll then ideate and drive initiatives end-to-end that increase customer satisfaction, engagement, and lifetime value. 

You will report to the Senior Director, Customer Experience. 

Job Responsibilities: 

  • Lead day-to-day management and optimization of Sakara Life’s email, SMS, and push notification channels, using various web interfaces and tools 
  • Develop a deep understanding of our customer through data analysis and extracting insights on acquisition sources, order patterns, cohort behavior, and churn
  • Tactically set up and execute email marketing campaigns, automated trigger emails, and text-based marketing (creating the asset, managing distribution lists and targeted segmentations, testing, deploying) 
  • Concept and run A/B tests on subject lines, content, timing, etc. to improve performance and drive results 
  • Manage segmented client lists to ensure communications are being sent to the most relevant audience, adding personalized strategies where appropriate 
  • Work closely with Creative team and manage end to end the briefing of creative assets (copy, design) for retention marketing tactics (including email, SMS, loyalty offers, direct mail, retention collateral)
  • Support Senior Director of Customer Experience on any retention channel initiatives as needed 
  • Coordinate GWPs and retention promotions with Operations team members 
  • Track channel performance on a weekly, monthly, quarterly, and campaign-level basis; report out regularly on performance trends 
  • Develop and prioritize a roadmap to grow and improve Sakara Life’s lifecycle marketing strategy 
  • Serve as primary liaison to retention marketing partners and vendors
  • Build effective cross-functional relationships with other teams (client experience, creative, operations, etc.) to ensure consistent client experience within retention marketing channels 
  • Participate and share opinions in broader marketing team meetings and have a close pulse on acquisition and retention challenges to provide input on strategic planning decisions
  • Lead, train and coach interns and associate level employees. 

Qualifications: 

  • 4+ years of experience in high performance environment and an analytical role, such as digital marketing, retention marketing, CRM, management consulting, finance, or business intelligence 
  • Experience with email, SMS, and/or app marketing preferred 
  • Highly data-driven with continuous desire to improve performance 
  • Excitement to constantly test ideas, analyze results, and iterate 
  • Highly proficient with Excel. HTML, Photoshop, and Illustrator skills preferred
  • Experience with Klaviyo, Chord, Segment CDP, Yotpo and Google Analytics preferred 
  • Self-starter who can take direction but work independently 
  • Extreme attention to detail 
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills 
  • Ability to clearly disseminate information and key takeaways to leadership
  • Strong work ethic and willingness to work hard with a “no job too small” mindset
  • Passion for health and wellness

This role is hybrid, with Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday based at our Sakara NY headquarters. 

The pay range for this position is: $90,000 - $120,000
