About the role: ​​
The Director, Ecommerce role will lead the evolution of Sakara.com and its digital marketplace business. We are looking for an innovative and results-driven leader who thrives in a dynamic and fluid environment and who can drive both customer-centric business results and new ways of working. Key parts of this role include owning and driving the site experience including strategy and planning, content planning needs, site merchandising, A/B testing, commerce features and functionality innovation and cross-functional partnership and communication. This leader will own accountability for sales results on Sakara.com and Sakara’s Amazon storefront, and requires a keen ability to drive
performance and fuel innovation concurrently.

 

Responsibilities: 

  • Lead the short and long-term vision for Sakara.com and Sakara’s Amazon storefront to develop and execute key site and customer strategies. 
  • Be accountable for Sakara.com and Amazon storefront business performance and KPIs. On a weekly and monthly basis report on the site and customer KPIs, including but not limited to: sessions, revenue, conv, RPV, repeat purchase rate, cross-sell rate, as well as new customer percentages. 
  • Partner with UX counterparts to ensure the site is designed and merchandised to deliver a seamless customer experience. 
  • Build and own the digital site roadmap and testing roadmap. Drive innovative features, functionality, and content needs that support the digital selling experience. Partner with tech and creative teams to ensure timely and smooth execution of digital site roadmap. 
  • Manage A/B testing initiatives on site and report out consistently to cross-functional peers on all tests to ensure learnings are incorporated into future marketing and creative strategy & planning. 
  • Build effective cross-functional partnerships across marketing, creative, product/technology, finance, and operations teams. 
  • Manage relationships with key ecommerce partners, including Amazon and third-party agency partners, to optimize performance and drive growth. 
  • Be accountable for Sakara’s long term vision of digital experience, thinking outside the status quo to recommend new site experiences based on long term vision at Sakara.
  • Maintain robust competitive intelligence to monitor trends and digital best practices. Stay informed about industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies in ecommerce and subscription-based businesses. 
  • Potential to lead a team of agile and fast paced digital talent who drive best in class commerce experiences.

Requirements:

  • 10+ years of experience in ecommerce
  • Ideal candidate will have experience with:
    • Shopify platform 
    • Web Analytics Solutions (e.g., Google Analytics)
    • Project Management Tools (e.g., Monday)
    • Content Management Solution (e.g., Sanity)
    • UX Design Collaboration tools (e.g. Figma)
    • Microsoft Office tools (Excel, PowerPoint)

This full-time role is based at our NYC Headquarters in Soho. This role will be required to work in office on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays.
 
The compensation salary range for this role is $165,000 to $200,000 annually.
